Transfer from the hotels in the village of Matala. The first point of the tour is a visit to the Agios Antonios Gorge near the village of Patsos, also known as the Patsos Gorge. Then transfer to the 'colourful' village of Margarites, so called by tourists because of the numerous and colourful ceramics that adorn every house, every wall, every workshop. Here, pottery making is a long-standing tradition and, in fact, locals still work on imitations of ancient Minoan vessels for domestic use. The last stop is the town of Rethymno. Free time and a walk through the charming alleys of the old town, during which you will have the opportunity to admire the domes and minarets of the Ottoman-era mosques and the 16th-century Venetian fortress. Return to hotels.
