Program Description

Discover one of Porto’s most iconic landmarks - Torre dos Clérigos. This impressive Baroque tower, located next to the remarkable Igreja dos Clérigos, can be seen from many viewpoints across the city and has become a defining symbol of Porto’s skyline.

Commissioned by the Clérigos Brotherhood and designed by Nicolau Nasoni, an 18th-century Italian architect whose work strongly influenced northern Portugal, the church was built between 1732 and around 1750. By the mid-1750s, the striking split staircase at the front of the church had also been completed, perfectly complementing the richly decorated Baroque façade.

Mass takes place every Saturday at 5:00 PM (in English) and every Sunday at 9:30 PM.
If the Clérigos Museum is closed, the visit can be rescheduled within the following 48 hours.
The Clérigos Museum closes at 6:00 PM.
Clergy are eligible for free admission.
Show your ticket at the entrance booth.
For safety reasons, backpacks, suitcases and other large items are not allowed inside the Clérigos Tower and Museum. A secure storage area is available for belongings, subject to availability.
