Program Description
Step into the heart of ancient Athens and explore the Ancient Agora – the city's political, social and commercial centre for centuries. This was the place where Athenians gathered to debate, trade, exchange ideas and follow the events that shaped the future of their city.
As you walk through this remarkable archaeological site at the foot of the Acropolis, you will discover the birthplace of Athenian democracy. It was here that some of history’s greatest philosophers, including Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, shared their ideas and inspired generations of thinkers.
Among the site's most impressive monuments is the beautifully preserved Temple of Hephaestus, considered one of the best-preserved ancient Greek temples. You will also see the Stoa of Attalos, a reconstructed ancient colonnade that once served as a bustling commercial and public gathering place. The remains of numerous other buildings offer a fascinating glimpse into everyday life in Athens more than two thousand years ago.
This experience is a must for anyone interested in the history, archaeology and culture of ancient Greece.

- To gain entry, you'll need to exchange it for the actual entrance ticket.
