Program Description
First, you will see monuments that have stood for thousands of years. Later, you will enter a museum where objects belonging to the people who created them have been preserved. This excursion combines Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum, taking you from the monumental Pyramids and the Sphinx to the treasures of the ancient pharaohs.
Before reaching the Pyramids, you will have the option of a short traditional felucca ride on the Nile. The river has been part of life in Egypt for thousands of years, and a short ride along its waters offers a peaceful start to a day filled with remarkable sights.
The scenery then changes completely. The Pyramids and the Sphinx reveal the scale of ancient Giza - from monumental structures to the famous sculpture whose exact history still raises many questions. If you wish, you can also choose a camel or horse ride. After sightseeing, you will stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
The next part of the journey takes you to the Grand Egyptian Museum, where you can look beyond the monumental structures and discover the ancient world through objects that have survived to the present day. The museum's atrium is home to a monumental statue of Ramesses II, followed by treasures associated with Tutankhamun, including a gold coffin made from 110 kilograms of gold.
Among the exhibits, you will also find the Solar Boat of Khufu - a nearly 4,600-year-old vessel made from cedar and acacia wood. According to ancient beliefs, it was intended to accompany Pharaoh Khufu on his journey into the afterlife. Following the Pyramids, it offers another glimpse into a world that left behind far more than monumental tombs.
During the day, there will also be time to visit local shops selling perfumes or papyrus, before you begin the journey back to your hotel.
The Pyramids reveal the scale of ancient Egypt, while the museum brings its details closer. Together, they create a glimpse into a civilisation whose legacy has endured for thousands of years.
