Program Description

Gran Canaria is an island full of contrasts - from charming seaside towns and lush valleys to a vibrant capital city. This tour is a great way to experience its most scenic and authentic spots, combining nature, history and local culture in one day.

The journey begins in Puerto de Mogán, often referred to as the “Venice of the Canaries”. Whitewashed houses, small bridges and flower-filled balconies create a truly picturesque setting. There will be free time to stroll along the marina, take photos and soak up the relaxed atmosphere of this unique place.

Next, the route leads to Barranco de Guayadeque, one of the island’s most historically significant valleys. This is where the indigenous people of Gran Canaria once lived, and you can still see cave dwellings carved into the rock, including a chapel. During the visit, the guide will share insights into the island’s past and traditions that have survived to this day.

Another stop is Agüimes, a town that has preserved its traditional Canarian character. Walking through its cobbled streets offers a glimpse into local life and architecture, far from the typical tourist resorts.

The final part of the tour takes you to Las Palmas, the island’s capital. In the historic district of Vegueta, you will discover the origins of the city dating back to the 15th century. As you walk through its narrow streets, you will reach Santa Ana Square, home to the iconic dog sculptures symbolising the Canary Islands and the impressive Santa Ana Cathedral.

You will also see the Town Hall and the former Governor’s House, which now hosts the Christopher Columbus Museum. At the end, there will be free time to explore the Triana district at your own pace, visit local cafés and try tapas in its lively streets.

The order of visits and the programme may be subject to change.
