Program Description
Embark on a two-day journey through southern Tunisia and discover the country's most spectacular landscapes, ancient monuments and Berber traditions. From holy cities and Roman landmarks to mountain oases and the vast Sahara, this tour showcases the incredible diversity of Tunisia.
On the first day, you will visit Kairouan, one of the holiest cities in Islam, where you will see the Great Mosque of Sidi Okba, the oldest mosque in North Africa. The journey continues across the shimmering salt landscapes towards the Atlas Mountains, where you will explore the picturesque mountain oasis of Chebika, famous for its dramatic scenery and lush palm groves. In the evening, you will arrive in Tozeur, Tunisia's largest oasis, where you will spend the night and experience the unique atmosphere of this traditional Berber town.
The second day begins with a drive next to Chott El Jerid, Tunisia's largest salt lake, renowned for its extraordinary desert landscapes. After that, you will visit Douz, known as the "Gateway to the Sahara", where you can experience the vast sand dunes of the world's largest hot desert. An optional camel ride offers the chance to discover the Sahara from a unique perspective.
The journey then continues to Matmata, famous for its spectacular moon-like landscapes and traditional underground Berber dwellings carved into the rock. You will visit one of these remarkable homes before travelling to El Jem, home to one of the world's best-preserved Roman amphitheatres. Standing in its impressive arena, you can imagine the atmosphere of the gladiatorial spectacles that once took place here.
