Cruise to Porto Santo

Porto Santo is a peaceful island located near Madeira, famous for its wide golden beaches and picturesque landscapes. During this tour, you will discover its most interesting corners, learn about the island’s local history and visit places where nature blends with the traditions of the Madeira archipelago.

The day will begin with a transfer to the harbour and a ferry crossing to Porto Santo. After arriving on the island, you will set off on a journey filled with stunning views and unique locations. The first stop will be Portela Viewpoint, offering panoramic views over Vila Baleira, the long sandy beach and the island’s rolling hills. It is one of the most iconic viewpoints on Porto Santo.

The route continues through Serra de Dentro, where you can see greenish clay formations created by ancient underwater volcanic activity. You will also pass through Pedregal - an area connected with the island’s agricultural history - and visit Pico do Castelo. In the past, this hill served as a refuge for the local population during pirate attacks.

Another highlight of the tour will be Lombas Viewpoint and the traditional wooden windmill, considered one of the symbols of the island and an important part of its cultural heritage. You will also visit Ponta da Calheta - a beautiful beach located on the south-west coast of Porto Santo. Bright sand, volcanic rocks and views of Ilhéu da Cal create an unforgettable landscape, and on clear days you may even spot Madeira Island in the distance.

During the day, lunch will be served either in Calheta or Vila Baleira. There will also be free time in the centre of Vila Baleira, giving you the opportunity to stroll through its charming streets or simply relax before the ferry journey back to Madeira.
