Enjoy 10 miles of crystal-clear water and exciting Class II-III rapids in the Florida section of the Reventazon River that are fun for first-timers or those wanting a less intense rafting experience. The Reventazon was the first river used for touristic rafting trips in Costa Rica, and it is the longest river in the Caribbean region. There is always plenty of water for rafting all year long because the river is dam controlled. In fact, it produces most of the renewable energy for a good part of the country with its hydroelectric dams.
Pick you up from hotels and drive through the impressive Braulio Carrillo National Park. During the tour you will see the rainforest and waterfalls across the Continental Divide to the Caribbean side of the country.
At the rafting put-in on the banks of the Reventazon River, you’ll receive a paddling and safety orientation. Then, you’ll start rafting. The first rapid of the day will set the pace for more fun to come. Enjoy the beautiful river valley as you travel from thick forest down to wide open spaces with banana plantations. At the end of your rafting trip, you’ll return to whitewater rafting operations center for a delicious hot lunch, and time to shower and change clothes. Then you’ll return by bus to San Jose.
